Karlsruhe Service Research Institute

The Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) is one of the leading European research institutes in the field of Service Science. It was founded in 2008 and is a “public-private partnership” involving IBM and Bosch. The KSRI develops concepts, methods as well as technologies for a world which is increasingly characterised by information and communication technology and the services based on them. The research at KSRI profits from a broad international network in science (e.g. Cambridge, St. Gallen, Stanford) and industry (e.g. ABB, Bosch, IBM). The KSRI consists of eight research groups from two faculties (Economics and Computer Science). The research group “Digital Service Innovation” run by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Satzger conducts research on services amongst other methods with Service Design and Data Analytics methods. The research group “Web Science and Knowledge Management” managed by Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter conducts research on semantic technologies and their application, in particular in the field of big data and web-based services.
